Artist Guidelines Pulsar Games, Inc. is a game company that produces role playing games (RPGs). Currently we produce Blood of Heroes, a superhero and villain role-playing game. We plan on releasing a number of sourcebooks for Blood of Heroes, and are also working on a Sci-fi based game code named Project Pulsar. Interior illustrations for Blood of Heroes are exclusively pen and ink right now, but may later include some pencil, watercolor, or marker renderings. Project Pulsar interior illustrations will be pen and ink, as well as some dark pencil work. Everything done so far, for Blood of Heroes, has been done in pen and ink, and dark pencil. At the moment color artwork is only needed for front and back cover art. Consequently, not much color work is needed at the moment. In addition, much of the black and white artwork presented in Blood of Heroes has been computer colorized for book covers and promotional posters. Computer experience, both in computer art, layout and graphic design is always a plus. Now for the guidelines. We at Pulsar Games strive to put a lot of art into our RPGs. Blood of Heroes had over 100 character drawing alone. As far as the subject matter goes, it's totally wide open. We generally have a idea of what we want but leave the project fairly open; we try not to stifle the artist. We give them a job, and let them run with it, it's what you're good at, right? I encourage you to work within your own style, in Blood of Heroes work in the comic book style is generally preferred. You know, the style where all the guys are muscle bound and all the women look great? Where the character is either striking a heroic pose, or bashing in the head of some villain? A little humor never hurts either. In addition, Blood of Heroes features some truly evil and menacing villains. Pictures that are a little more gritty than traditional comics are generally acceptable. For Project Pulsar, we prefer detailed, realistic artwork depicting futuristic equipment and strange aliens. More info on that later... To summarize he is what we need: * Able to do pen and ink drawings. * Someone adept at technical illustrations like spaceships, vehicles, armor, and weapons; alien creatures are always a plus. If you're interested please call or send me a copy of your portfolio. PLEASE DO NOT SEND US YOUR WEB PAGE ADDRESS. WE DON'T WANT TO SEE YOUR WEB PAGE, WE WANT TO SEE YOUR ART WORK. Sending the art director your web address and no portfolio is the quickest way NOT to get the job. We don't mind if you include you web site address with a portfolio, but one does not substitute for the other. We're a little old fashion in that respect.
